Hijab is one of the most controversial topics nowadays among many Muslim and Non-Muslim countries. People are trying to manipulate the actual core of the hijab in Islam for supporting various models such as identity, modernism, the challenge of living as a combined family system, and Women’s freedom. Secular communities are manipulating the concept that “hijab is from one’s heart and mind and everyone should understand their limits in this modern era”. There is no need to put a cloth for covering, sadly speaking you have heard this statement from many people. But this is wrong; every man and woman should understand what is hijab in Islam with a true spirit.
We all have different social brought-ups and have different spiritual journeys according to everyone’s exposure. We are all on an individual spiritual journey and the hijab is part of that journey. But if we keep striving to purify our hearts and have positive intentions and keep trying for improving our level of piety, then Allah knows our intentions and how hard we are trying and will bestow His Blessings and Mercy on us InshaAllah.
Many of us have clean and pure hearts and always try to adopt Allah’s teachings, however, we aren’t able to apply full Hijab but do try from our hearts. Others should understand that it is a matter between Allah and each individual and He knows the hearts better than others. Striving for perfection in hijab always will keep you up to your pious level so the rewards are from Allah Almighty. We should keep learning about what is hijab in Islam more and more every day and Allah will help us surely. Allah forgives and showers his blessings on those who want and strive for the righteous path.
Hijab – Choice Or Obligation
Hijab is not a choice. It is an obligation and anyone who understands what is hijab in Islam will submit to this. The one who sacrificed their modern trends and norms to keep herself protected as guided by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will surely get tremendous and big rewards hereafter in Jannah. Islam has given dignity, power, and protection to women to have an honor comparable to other religions’ rights for women.
Though women have all rights along with the hijab, even then, Western modernism and women’s rights are working hard and trying to destroy the concept of the hijab. Liberals and the Media are making propaganda to give a slogan that Islam oppresses the hijab on Muslim women, which is not their choice. It’s completely wrong. Women who wear the hijab, wear it proudly because they want to please their Lord and know that they are following what Allah has asked of us.
Importance Of Hijab In Islam
Hijab is a symbol of Muslim women’s identity. Islam has provided protection and rights to women under the concept of the hijab. Islam has not limited women from their rights. Women can do anything with a hijab, such as jobs and education, and move into society with complete confidence. Hijab protects women from sexual harassment. To understand the importance of what is hijab in Islam you should study the Quran’s verse about the hijab from Surah Noor and Surah Al-Ahzab Ayat 59. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
So, the hijab is not to degrade women instead it is for women’s pride and protection and to increase their rank among other women.
The Proper Way Of Wearing Hijab In Islam
It is the duty of Muslim women to understand what is hijab in Islam and wear the hijab properly as said by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Women should cover their heads with headscarf and chest properly. Some scholars said it is mandatory to cover the face and some of them said it is allowed to open the face. But it all depends on you what pious level you are at.
